Titre : Cologne Commentary on Space Law Titre original : Volume I - Outer Space Treaty Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Stephan HOBE, Auteur Editeur : Carl Heymanns Verlag KG Année de publication : 2010 Importance : 298 pages Format : Relié ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-3-452-27185-3 Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Espace et droit des activités spatiales Mots-clés : space law outer space treaty United Nations resolutions spaceflight space activities international space legilisation Index. décimale : 341.47 : Juridiction sur l'espace extra-terrestre (lune, planètes) Résumé : The Cologne commentary on space law is a three-volume annotation on the written norms of space law as enunciated through the treaties of the United Nations and its general assembly resolutions. With more than fifty years of spaceflight and forty years of international outer space legislation, the rule of law has been crucial in the exponential growth of the scope of activities in outer space. The evolution of a large body of international space legislation has been also supplemented recently with the enactments of various national space legislation and regulations. The Cologne commentary on space law aims to provide a genuine and concrete contribution to the development and enforcement of the rule of law in outer space. Volume I focuses on the 1967 Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies. Popularly known as the ªOuter Space Treatyº, it was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in its resolution 2222 (XXI) and opened for signature on 27 January 1967. It entered into force on 10 October 1967, and as of 1 January 2013, has received 102 ratifications and 26 signatures. Volume I of CoCoSL was presented to the public in October 2009 at the 52nd Colloquium on the Law of Outer Space of the International Institue of Space Law (IISL), in Daejeon, Republic of Korea.Volume I provides a historical overview of the Outer Space Treaty, including a critical review as to its present-day applicability. A provision-by-provision analysis of the Outer Space Treaty is provided, including insights into the negotiations and drafting history, interpretation of the text of each Article, and future perspectives of the principles enshrined therein. Titre : Commercial Uses of Space and Space Tourism Titre original : Legal and Policy Aspects Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Jan WOUTERS, Auteur ; Philip DE MAN, Auteur ; Rik HANSEN, Auteur Editeur : Edward Elgar Publishing Année de publication : 2017 Collection : Leuven Global Governance Series Importance : 328 pages Format : Relié ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-1-78536-106-7 Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Espace et droit des activités spatiales Mots-clés : commercial uses space space tourism space industrialization liability space governance Index. décimale : 341.47 : Juridiction sur l'espace extra-terrestre (lune, planètes) Résumé : Commercial Uses of Space and Space Tourism combines the perspectives of academics, policy makers and major industry players around three central themes : the international legal challenges posed by the dramatic changes to the spacefaring landscape ; the corresponding legal and regulatory responses to these challenges at the national level ; and topical questions of global space governance. Chapters cover emerging activities in commercial spacefaring, including space tourism and space transportation, and identify the regulatory issues that may arise in the absence of a clear boundary between airspace and outer space. By taking a pragmatic, inductive approach, the book aims to breath new life into the discussion of the air-space boundary, while informing readers about the many exciting recent developments in commercial spacefaring. This book will appeal to lecturers, academics and students in space law and air law, as well as policy makers and industry practitioners involved in the regulation of orbital and suborbital commercial spaceflight, both manned and unmanned.
